The Sales Management Association shared the results of a 2018 research. Over several LinkedIn posts so that each idea sinks in, we will have a look at 6 statistics that hopefully show what good looks like:

#3: Employee retention can improve by 82% when onboarding is done right but 88% of the employees don’t think their company offered something valuable.

Onboarding should be about knowledge, insight, culture and how to be successful. As an organization, you want new hires to be motivated, confident they can succeed. You want them to be proud representatives of what you have to offer so they can thrive doing they job. Onboarding is not just about processes and administrative tasks (as 51% of the companies solely focus on, half of them admitting it does not involve any kind of training).

The other benefit of a good onboarding is that sales executives are more likely to stay and be fully committed. Bearing in mind that it takes an average of 8 months to be fully productive and of 11.2 months to be in a position to achieve quota, keeping promising hires becomes the essence of success.

48% of the sales organisations consider sales representative turnover is too high and 60% consider themselves understaffed. Better start working today on that onboarding program.
